15 Dumbest Razzie Nominations Of All Time

12. Last Action Hero (Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst New Star, Worst Original Song)

Last Action Hero
Columbia Pictures

Last Action Hero is one of the most criminally misunderstood and under-appreciated blockbusters of the 1990s, a devastatingly funny meta-actioner that was far ahead of its time.

Because it was mis-marketed as a mostly straight action flick and bombed at the box office, it was an easy target for derision, causing the Razzies to nominate it for basically every damn award they could.

Not a single of its six nominations feels remotely earned, and nominating John McTiernan's direction, Arnold Schwarzenegger's performance and Shane Black's script seems especially off-base.

An argument can probably be made that child protagonist Austin O'Brien was a little annoying, but even then it's pretty flimsy and desperate. And how the Hell did the Razzies nominate AC/DC's cracking tune "Big Gun" for Worst Original Song? Madness.
