Michelle Williams may not have been successful in her Best Supporting Actress bid for Manchester by the Sea, but there's always next year, where she'll play showman P.T. Barnum's (Hugh Jackman) wife Charity in this musical drama based on his life.

Williams is a four-time nominee and easily one of the most distinguished actresses never to win an Oscar, so the combination of her sure-to-be-excellent performance with the pronounced feeling she's overdue an Oscar could give her an easy path to the podium.

If she's nominated and doesn't win, that'll place her on par with Amy Adams as an incredulous five-time nominee without a win.
