14. Man of Steel
While brainstorming ideas for what would become
The Dark Knight Rises, screenwriter David Goyer told Christopher Nolan an idea he had for how to reboot the Superman film series. Liking what he heard, Nolan then pitched the concept to Warner Bros. who - desperate for a new franchise - quickly gave the green light. This was back in 2010. Three years later, we finally get to see what they have in store. With Zack Snyder sitting in the director's chair,
Man of Steel is promising to combine a
"Nolan story" with "Snyder visuals." If that is indeed true, we are in store for a potentially epic entry to the superhero genre. Whether or not the movie paves the way for WB to move forward on a shared DC universe remains to be seen. One thing that's not open for debate is how effective the most recent trailer was at selling people on the new take of the most popular superhero. It looks to have both strong substance and style, meaning this could be one of those special blockbusters. If successful,
Man of Steel will undoubtedly get two sequels and right now, there aren't many people who would object to that.
