13. Monsters Univeristy
Full confession. I am a huge Pixar fan. Toy Story is the first film I have a memory of seeing in a theater and ever since then, their stories have been a part of my moviegoing experience. Movies like WALL-E, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Up are heartfelt works of art that people of all ages can enjoy. That being said, the animation giant has been on a bit of a cold streak as of late. 2011's Cars 2 was the first poorly-received Pixar film (38% on Rotten Tomatoes) and some felt that last year's Brave wasn't as good as it could have been. Pixar is hoping for a comeback as they release their first prequel, Monsters University, which sees us return to the world of their 2001 classic, Monsters, Inc. The original is one of my favorite Pixar offerings and I have been waiting to go back to Monstropolis for quite some time. Mike and Sully rank among the studio's best creations and the trailers have showcased a potentially clever spoof on college life with a "monster" spin. As a recent college graduate myself, I should find a lot to appreciate in the narrative. Hopefully this will be a return to form for Pixar, combining the heart and humor that fueled their earlier films to success.

I spend most of my free time either reading about upcoming movies, watching movies, or going to the movie theater. I enjoy watching all types of films from summer blockbusters to Oscar contending dramas. I am also a huge sports fan, rooting for the New York Giants, Knicks, and Yankees
