15 Foreign Language Horror Movie Gems Hidden On Netflix

13. The Eye 2 (2004)

This surprisingly effective sequel to the influential 2002 Japanese horror takes its own lead so you don€™t need to have seen the first one to enjoy it. It centres on Joey, a young woman who attempts suicide via sleeping pills after being horribly rejected by her boyfriend. Following her recovery she looks forward to a new life but then finds out she€™s pregnant. Haunted by the thought of an abortion, she starts experiencing ghostly visions including one woman€™s ghost who seems to be stalking her. The narrative and model of scares are fairly pedestrian but directing team the Pang brothers know how to muster creepiness and often outright shocking jump scares out of even the most ordinary of horror movie situations. It€™s also got a bit more emotional depth than your average film of this kind. Available on US Netflix
