5. Jumping The Shark - Sharknado 2: The Second One
Sharknado 2: The Second One was overall a decidedly more self-aware movie than what came before, and as such it seemed much more game to poke fun at itself. When Fin (Ian Ziering) finds himself trapped on a cab with no seeming way to get to safety, he resorts to the most desperate measure of all, using several sharks as stepping stones to get across the water. Once across, Fin's brother-in-law asks, You know what you just did, dont you?, and though Fin urges him not to say it, he tells him, "You jumped the shark", a hilarious reference to the term describing a TV show or movie that's gone past its peak point of quality and is now simply on a downhill slide. Frankly, what filmmaker could resist dropping a joke like this into a movie this ridiculous?
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
