3. Quicksilver Slow-Mo - X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Easily the stand-out character in the latest X-Men film was Peter Maximoff aka Quicksilver (Evan Peters), who helps Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) break Magneto (Michael Fassbender) out of the Pentagon. Though not in the movie for very long, Quicksilver gets his true moment to shine in the film's best and funniest scene, as the gang are caught by some security guards during their escape and shot at. Quicksilver uses his super-speed abilities to run around the room, changing the trajectory of the guards' bullets to avoid killing his buddies, playfully tasting some mid-air soup, knocking off a cop's hat, administering some atomic wedgies and arranging for a cop to punch himself in the face, all while Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle plays out. When the scene resumes regular speed, the guards are all knocked unconscious in a flash, a reminder that while Days Of Future Past might've had the grimmest premise of all the X-Men movies, it still remembered to have plenty of fun too. It's just a shame Quicksilver promptly disappeared from the movie after this scene.
