15 Funniest Movie Moments Of 2016

2. Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping - Equal Rights

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping has a good shot at being the most underrated film of 2016. The hilarious parody of modern, clueless pop singers is so biting in its satire while also featuring a number of legitimately catchy songs.

The best tune is Conner's (Andy Samberg) attempt at making music with a real message. "Equal Rights" is his contribution to the gay marriage debate. The whole thing starts off well enough with Conner singing about his belief that gay people deserve the same rights as he does. However, the song takes a weird turn as Conner continues to remind the listeners that he himself is not gay. Eventually, he just starts naming manly things like Predator, hot wings and big socks in an effort to convince us he's straight.

Not only is it just a great song, it's a sharp take on the musicians who write preachy yet self-serving songs. It's not mean-spirited or even really saying anything about the issue, it's just a stupid song from an ignorant celebrity. Ringo Starr says it best, "He's writing a song for gay marriage like it's not allowed. It's allowed now."
