Everyone knows who Mark Hamill is. He's Luke Skywalker! And therein lies the reason why Hamill is a cult actor. He is a star that is remembered for a role he played between 1977-1983, despite appearing in an insanely huge amount of films since then. Hamill has maintained a dedicated flow of followers throughout his career, but unlike the ubiquitous Harrison Ford he has failed to escape the shadow of his most famous role. It's a shame, because he's just as talented as his co-star. He seems to have suffered from a lack of opportunities, or perhaps just bad choices. Ford had Blade Runner, Hamill had... Time Runner? Ford had the Indiana Jones franchise, Hamill had... Slipstream? Village Of The Damned? Watchers Reborn?! His fans have never deserted him though, and it's primarily due to his incredible voiceover work. This has mainly revolved around one character in particular: The Joker. Hamill has voiced him in animated series and the smash-hit Arkham video games series, in the process making the character his own. Heath Ledger's Joker was great and everything, but the deliciously evil and downright hilarious vocal work of Hamill is just exceptional. Hamill has retained a cult audience even as those around him have gone on to superstardom. Whether he envisioned his career going the way that it did or not, he seems to be eternally grateful for the love of his devotees. He also seems to genuinely love voicing characters in animated shows - it isn't just a pay cheque for him! As a sign-off, here's a clip of Hamill giving a gift back to his loyal fans by fusing the stories of his two most famous characters - The Joker telling Luke Skywalker that he's his father. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd2NHSu0V4M Who's your favourite cult actor?
