The greatest moments throughout the Star Wars saga happen between the Masters and their young Padawans. From moments of victory to tragic deaths, these emotional moments are nothing without the strong relationship between the teacher and the student. Hoshino captures that essence perfectly in a unique story about a Master and their overly eager apprentice.

This fan film is strongly influenced by Rey's time training with Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. In this film, Hoshino (the young Padawan) is eager to finally train with a lightsaber to truly feel what it's like to be a Jedi. The master, however, is trying to show her that a relationship with the force is the true essence of being a Jedi.

In an act of disobedience, Hoshino takes her master's lightsaber and has a tragic accident leaving her permanently scarred. With her lesson learned about patience, she is faced with a new enemy who threaten her peaceful way of life.

Hoshino has, without a doubt, the best visual effects when it comes to the use of the force. Furthermore, Stephen Vitale and Eric Carrasco did a wonderful job of capturing the Master/Apprentice relationship and included a few delightful Easter eggs from the original trilogy.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
