15 Historical Figures Who Deserve A Movie (And Who Should Play Them)

2. Orson Welles

citizen kane One of the most versatile creative forces of the 20th century, Orson Welles wrote, directed, acted in and produced films, radio productions as well as theater. He co-wrote, directed and produced Citizen Kane which is often considered the finest film ever made. After Kane, Welles continuously ran afoul of studios who would not let him have complete artistic control over his productions, leading to his many of his films being edited in a way he was unhappy with. His battles with the film studios would form the basis of a film adaption of him. Another event that Welles was notable for was his 1938 radio adaption of War of the Worlds by H.G Wells. According to some accounts, the production was so realistic that it caused a mild panic at the time of its broadcast. Welles's array of talents, combined with his commanding personality would lend itself well to a biopic and as one of the most significant figures in cinema, it's about time Welles got his own. Casting Choice: Orson Welles has been played several times by different actors although none have been particularly good. I think an unknown would be the proper pick.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
