15 Horror Movies Since 2000 So Awful They'e Genuinely Horrifying

3. Shark Night 3D

The Devil Inside
Rogue

The Plot:

Some attractive, partying youngsters go on vacation at a lake house and start getting torn to shreds by wild CGI sharks... same as it ever was.

Why It Sucks:

With a film like this, a lack of scares is disappointing but understandable. You don't go into one of these silly shark movies expecting high art, you go in expecting a bit of trashy fun. The complete lack of guilty-pleasure entertainment makes Shark Night 3D one of the most tonally misjudged movies of them all.

It's a serious, po-faced and humorless film with very little blood and no nudity in sight... what the hell were they thinking? Why would anyone want to go and see a PG-13 shark movie with no scares and no trashy fun?

The complete lack of explicit content or humor was a fatal blow against this, since those would've provided something for it to lean back on to distract from everything else it did wrong. Since it went the PG-13 route, there's nowhere for the dreadful CGI sharks, horrendous acting, beyond-awful writing and terrible direction to hide.

It's safe to say dumb shark B-Movies have never been blander.
