15 Horror Movies That Actually Need Remakes

1. Cujo (1983)

The Original: An adaptation of Stephen King's novel, where a St. Bernard contracts rabies and terrorises a sleepy American town, venturing on a vicious killing spree. It's relatively dated and far from the best King adaptations, but it's appropriately visceral and filled an interesting horror niche that hasn't been attempted much ever since. Why It Needs A Remake: Because rabid dogs have the potential to be terrifying vestiges of horror, as it immediately brings the terror to the viewer's doorstep, considering that it could (theoretically) happen to them. It's not exactly an overcrowded sub-genre and, given how the original almost tripled its $8 million budget, it sounds like a pretty smart investment. Cute dog movies are one thing, but killer dog movies? Golden. How Likely Is It?: 8/10. A Cujo remake has been talked about for years, and it's easily the most logical entry on this list: it's a simple story with a natural brutality and believability which makes audiences want to see it. Plus, dogs = money. Which horror movie would you most like to see remade? Shout it out in the comments!
