7. Insidious: Chapter 4

Insidious 4
FilmDistrict

The Insidious ghost trains shows no signs of derailing with this fourth, even more ghostly chapter creeping up on us.

At the moment details are a bit hidden in the Further, with only a tantalising announcement trailer having been unveiled. What we do know from this clip, though, is that the film is due for release on 20 October, new scaremonger on the block Adam Robitel is set to direct and Lyn Shaye is heading up a cast that also includes Spencer Locke and other franchise regular Angus Sampson (Tucker).

Given the success of Insidious 3's prequel format, Leigh Whannell who, let's face it, is the creative driving force behind the whole series, has hinted that we can expect yet more early adventures of Shaye's wily old parapsychologist may be in order, so expect this to expore these themes a little, erm, further, while also jump-scaring the heck out of us at the same time. Roll on Halloween.
