15 Images That Will Restore Your Faith In Upcoming Movies
3. Superman Statue - Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Why We're Worried: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is almost certain to become one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, though that could very well be in spite of itself. There are so many question marks lingering around the production: will Ben Affleck be able to pull off Batman? Will the left-field casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor pay off? Is there any way that Gal Godot will be a remotely good Wonder Woman? And Aquaman's going to be in it, too? Why This Image Rocks: While most of these worries will remain worries for the considerable future, another aspect fans were worried about was that the events of Man of Steel would essentially be brushed under the carpet and, for the sake of convenience, this would be a Superman sequel in only the loosest sense. One of the more intriguing images leaked from the Batman v Superman set so far is of a giant Superman statue (apparently to be completed with CGI), which set spies have suggested is in honour of him "saving" Metropolis in Man of Steel's mega-destructive finale. Given how controversial the absurd level of property damage was in the film, props to Zack Snyder for actually engaging with it further in this follow-up rather than just completely downplaying it and moving onto something else. It'll probably end up as a small aspect of the movie, but it gives up hope that Snyder and David S. Goyer aren't going to get too carried away with the gimmicky nature of a Batman vs. Superman movie, and might actually ground it as a plausible follow-on from what came before.
