15 Images That Will Restore Your Faith In Upcoming Movies

11. Terry Gilliam Cameo - Jupiter Ascending

Why We're Worried: The Wachowskis' Jupiter Ascending certainly has a lot working against it: it's a $175 million original sci-fi project with a barmy, niche premise that's just been delayed by 7 months due to the visual effects apparently not being completed. The footage released so far looks visually stunning, but will it end up an incoherent, overly self-serious mess? Why This Image Rocks: The answer to that question remains to be seen, though we couldn't help but be cheered up by this sneaky snap taken on the movie's set, which confirms the murmurs that director Terry Gilliam will be making a cameo appearance in the movie that will reference his classic Brazil. But Gilliam's not just making some half-baked cameo by the looks of it: the director has been kitted out in a ridiculously elaborate (and flat-out ridiculous) outfit and hairdo, and given that his part has been described as "small but vital", we're guessing he's some sort of head honcho. Above all else, it's a reminder that the movie clearly isn't taking itself that seriously: is there any way anyone could ever make a movie with costumes and haircuts like this and expect the audience not to burst out laughing? It's looking increasingly like Jupiter will be a daft fantasy yarn in Gilliam's vein rather than anything more pretentious or self-regarding.
