15 Insufferable Horror Movie Characters You Secretly WANTED To Die

12. Doc - Terror Train

Unfriended 2014
20th Century Fox

Just as most slasher films have a Final Girl, most have a jerk character. In this enjoyable and reasonably effective Canadian slasher film, Doc (Hart Bochner) fills that role. In fact, since Doc was the ringleader of a prank that drove the film's killer, Kenny (Derek MacKinnon), into madness, he is in some ways the cause of Kenny's vengeful killing spree on the titular train.

Doc and his medical school colleagues persuaded a reluctant Alana (Jamie Lee Curtis, like always!), the film's Final Girl, to take Kenny upstairs at a party. Expecting a sexual tryst, Kenny instead finds a real-life female corpse on the bed (the characters stole the body from their hospital) and this completely traumatises him.

Look, there are nasty pranks and then there's that. Worse still, Doc has no remorse at all.

He spends the rest of the film being a mean-spirited and selfish jerk until he inevitably gets his comeuppance. He locks himself in a room to hide from Kenny... and Kenny is actually hiding in that same room and subsequently kills him.

Doc is not only murdered by the boy whose life he ruined, but is also killed thanks to his own cowardice and stupidity, making this a very satisfying slasher movie kill.
