15 Insufferable Horror Movie Characters You Secretly WANTED To Die

11. Franklin - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Unfriended 2014
Bryanston Pictures

In this superb, terrifying slasher film, Franklin Hardesty (Paul A. Partain) is the wheelchair-bound brother of Sally (Marilyn Burns), the film's Final Girl. In lists like this, Franklin usually pops up and as anyone who's seen the film will know, there's a very, very good reason for that.

It's not fun to rip on a disabled character, but Franklin is truly awful. He does nothing but whine and snap at the other characters and it's clear from the off that the other four in the film's luckless group of main characters, including his own sister, find him a massive chore to be around and who can blame them?

In particular, there's a certain scene where he's angrily ranting about his companions and blowing raspberries that's almost as excruciating to watch as the film's harrowing dinner scene.

Eventually, this most rude and tiresome of travelling companions gets downed with a chainsaw by Leatherface and it's very hard to feel much sympathy for him at all.
