15 Insufferable Movie Protagonists That Ruined Their Movies

There are movies with unlikable characters and then there's Sabotage.

With the sole exception of Arnold Schwarzenegger's lead, the characters (a group of DEA agents being hunted by a murderer) are a group of obnoxious, cruel, sickening, misogynistic and vile thugs who frequently hurt and kill innocent people during their operations. In particular, Lizzie (Mireille Enos) is possibly one of the most detestable female characters in film history.

They endlessly verbally abuse others, sexually harass women, beat up a security guard at a strip club, two of them carry a grisly killing spree... these characters are so unpleasant that by the end of Sabotage you'll feel very, very queasy indeed. The only thing which makes this easier is that most of the characters die horribly, which is almost certainly what every viewer will secretly be hoping for.

The performances of the actors are largely OK, but that doesn't help, since even the world's greatest actor couldn't make any of these characters remotely bearable. It's because of these nauseating characters that Sabotage is arguably among the most obnoxious and repellent studio films ever made.
