15 Interesting Facts About The Daniel Craig Bond Films

14. The Vesper Martini Is Ordered Verbatim From The Novel

Considering that Casino Royale is an adaptation of a novel, there€™s an astounding amount of difference between the film and the source material. Since the book was released half a century before the movie, it€™s understandable that this was the case, but that doesn€™t mean that the film completely ignored its roots. After all, Casino Royale, despite not being the first Bond book, was the first to feature the origins of Bond€™s iconic catchphrase, €œshaken, not stirred.€

Fittingly, one of the ways that the movie was true to the book was the way in which Bond orders his drink of choice. Craving a Vesper Martini for the first time he speaks to the bartender "Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon€™s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?"

The dialogue is taken verbatim from the novel, in both instance, leaving Felix Leiter thoroughly impressed and likely pleasing a few die-hard Fleming fans.
