Terry Gilliam's Brazil was reportedly River Phoenix's favourite movie. When Phoenix got a chance to work with Jonathan Pryce, he asked Pryce to set up a meeting with his hero, Terry Gilliam. Gilliam agreed, but unfortunately the meeting was scheduled for the day River Phoenix died. Phoenix never got to meet his hero. Source: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088846/trivia
8. A Clockwork Orange (1971)
The famous Singing In The Rain scene was completely improvised by Malcolm McDowell and Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick couldn't decide how to film the scene, and so he asked McDowell to do some dancing and sing whatever song he liked. McDowell could only recall Singing In The Rain all the way through, and so Kubrick quickly bought the rights to the song for $10,000. Later on, McDowell eventually met Gene Kelly, whom he had great respect for. Kelly reportedly refused to meet McDowell as he was deeply upset about the way his most famous song had been used in A Clockwork Orange. Source: http://www.malcolmtribute.freeiz.com/aco/acotrivia.html
