15 Likely Movie Sequels That Hopefully Will Never Happen

14. Taken 4

Previous Movies: 2008's Taken was a surprise hit at the box office, raking in $226 million on a modest budget and completely reinventing Liam Neeson as a bonafide action star. This inevitably led to the 2012 follow-up, which felt inferior in just about every way that a sequel can, painfully rehashing what came before, but grossing an insane $376 million, again on a to-scale budget. Taken 3 is due for release next month, and though few will be expecting a great sequel, with a new twist on the original premise and Forest Whitaker joining the cast, it will probably be better than Taken 2, difficult though that absolutely isn't... The Sequel: Even if Taken 2 perhaps turned off some audiences, Taken 3 is almost guaranteed to be a box office smash on the basis of Neeson's presence alone, combined with a complete lack of competition in the January graveyard slot. As such, a fourth Taken film is almost dead certain, even if Neeson has claimed the third film will definitely be the last, albeit the very same thing he said about Taken 2. Why It Should Never Happen: Taken 4, or perhaps more appropriately, T4ken, would no doubt be totally lame because there's only so many people the terrorists can actually take. If Taken 3 has nobody being taken, then it doesn't really make sense for the series to continue with its inaccurate title. Why not just make a new thriller movie with the Brian Mills character becoming a James Bond or Jack Ryan-esque hero?
