15 Lowest Rated Oscar Winning Movies

13. The Woman In Red (1984)

The Woman In Red Gene Wilder Kelly Lebrock
Orion Pictures

Oscar Win: Best Original Song

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 35%

Writer-director-star Gene Wilder's rom-com won its single Oscar for Stevie Wonder's smash hit tune "I Just Called to Say I Love You", and that seems pretty fair, until you consider it was up against both Kenny Loggins' "Footloose" and Ray Parker Jr.'s "Ghostbusters".

As for the film itself? It's not aged well, with contemporary reviews rightly slamming Gene Wilder's attempts to cheat on his wife with the far younger Kelly LeBrock as sleazy and discomforting.

It's actually a weirdly depressing film that may have been all laughs three decade ago, but these days, most recent reviews rightly take it to task.
