15 Massively Underrated Movies From The 2010s

1. Carol (2015)

Although a lot of critics did love Carol - it has 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 8.6/10 - that didn't translate into a huge amount of audience appraisal, with the movie having just a 73% audience rating on there and 7.2/10 on IMDb.

Even more egregious, though, is how badly it was snubbed at the Oscars, being completely overlooked in the two biggest categories, Best Director and Best Picture, and while nominated missing out on acting prizes for Cate Blanchett and, even worse, Rooney Mara.

Carol may be known for its lesbian romance, and that is beautifully portrayed on screen, but it also speaks to a more universal sense of love too in stunning fashion. Todd Haynes keeps things subtle, which further explains his lack of Oscar nomination, but it's a moving, elegant, swooning film where everything is told through little touches and discrete looks; it's about love, but also desire, longing, and passion. Heartfelt, heartwarming, and at times heartbreaking, it's an impeccable, gorgeous film that deserved much more than it got.

Which other movies have been underrated this decade? Let us know down in the comments.
