Originally set to be released this month before being pushed all the way back to November 5th, 2021, Marvel Studios is heading back down the sci-fi route with Eternals. With a cast every bit as eclectic as Guardians of the Galaxy, Chloé Zhao's movie should be a game-changer for the MCU.
Exploring thousands of years of history - and likely explaining the emergence of mutants in this shared world - the Celestials will finally take centre stage as they return to Earth, seemingly to destroy the superpowered beings they created millennia ago. The Eternals are the only beings powerful enough to stop them, hence why it's now they're stepping out of the shadows.
The movie has finished shooting, and there's probably a finished trailer somewhere in Marvel Studios HQ, but it's unclear when that will see the light of day. This is going to be a huge sci-fi epic, though, and the cast - which includes Angelina Jolie! - is phenomenal.
