Is it time to start remaking Eli Roth movies already? Well, if youre going to do it, you might as well start with 2002s Cabin Fever, if only to erase the memory of the sequels. The irony is that Roths movie was far from original and referenced everything from Two Thousand Maniacs to The Evil Dead by way of The Last House On The Left, and since the filmmakers are reportedly using the same script, this sounds more like a reinterpretation of a homage. Perhaps Roth will come up with a catchy term to describe the finished film a soft reintermaging, say. Either way, dont go into the movie expecting skull-cracking originality when it opens in 2016.
