Comic book villains have been brought to the big screen many times over the years - some successfully (e.g. Magneto, the Joker, General Zod, Loki) and some not so successfully (e.g. Venom, Mr. Freeze, Doctor Doom, Juggernaut). With the current influx of upcoming comic book movies comes a spate of new villains that we are very much looking forward to seeing. Some of these villains are well known, some aren't, and some of them have been used in movies before, while some haven't. In this article, I'll take a look at the confirmed and highly expected villains that will be appearing over the next couple of years and attempt to rank them in order of how highly anticipated they are by the fans. Honourable Mention: Norman Osborn
Chris Cooper is set to play Norman Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it is still not 100% confirmed that he will be undergoing the transformation in to the Green Goblin in the second instalment of the new Spider-Man franchise. One minute we are hearing that the Green Goblin will be a key factor in the final battle in the movie, the next minute we're hearing that the people behind the movie "won't be addressing" that aspect of the character just yet. So, while it would be very cool to see a new Green Goblin, he might simply be Norman Osborn for the foreseeable future. Of course, I'm sure we'll see the Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but that's still a long way off.
