The Moment: As James (Will Ferrell) continues to prepare for his upcoming incarceration, Darnell (Kevin Hart) suggests that he learn how to perform oral sex for the inevitable prison rape scenario. Cue the pair visiting a notorious gay hookup spot, where James attempts to give a man (Matt Walsh) a blowjob, though ducks out at the last minute. Why It's Controversial: This movie as a whole got criticism in every direction, but especially with regard to the homophobic undertone, the fear that rape was a sure thing in prison above all else, that all these men were sexual predators. Yes, it would be unfair to call James homophobic for ducking out of the blowjob, but the overall tone indicates gay sex to be the "gross other", because that's what mainstream audiences want and believe, right?
