15 Most Critically Hated Films From 2015

7. Regression

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 6% (3.9/10) Why Critics Hated It: Consider that people expected a possible Best Picture candidate from writer-director Alejandro AmenĂ¡bar (The Others, The Sea Inside) here. Instead, he served up a shockingly rote occult thriller which somehow attracted Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson to star. For her luck, Watson thankfully doesn't appear anywhere near as much as advertised, though gives a rare poor performance anyway. Hawke fares a little better and is at least trying, but what can be done with such run-of-the-mill fare? Oh, and if you didn't see the plot twist coming at least half an hour early, you were probably asleep, which nobody could blame you for. One of the year's most epically awful disappointments.
