15 Most Disappointing Movies Of 2016

6. Batman: The Killing Joke

Fans had been anticipating the R-rated animated adaptation of Alan Moore's iconic graphic novel for a long time, and thanks to some horrendous creative decisions, the end product was close to a total disaster.

For starters, because the source material is relatively short, the film is front-loaded with an awful prologue sequence that nobody asked for. The most egregious issue, though, is that Barbara Gordon has been transformed into a mopey young woman who hooks up with Batman (!) and spends the rest of the movie whining about it.

Things improve slightly for the third act, where Batman faces off against The Joker, for while Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are characteristically excellent in their respective roles, that only partially excuses the mediocre animation and awful writing.
