15 Most Disappointing Movies Of The 2020s (So Far)

6. Wonder Woman 1984

Thor: Love and Thunder
Warner Bros.

Yikes.

Wonder Woman 1984 is a baffling, cringe-worthy disaster that is so misjudged and so completely inferior to the first film that you can't help but wonder in disbelief what the hell Warner Bros were thinking.

The first film is one of the best superhero flicks this century and the crew behind it were all back. The trailers looked promising too, so there was no particular reason not to expect, at the very least, a solid sequel even if there were some red flags in the trailers (such as some really bad CGI).

Regardless, it's hard to imagine anyone could've imagined it being this bad.

With its unbelievably messy story, insulting lack of action, non-existent stakes and howlingly awful villains, Wonder Woman 1984 is one of the worst superhero films of the last 20 years, and in terms of big-budget theatrical releases it's among the worst ever.

Oh, and that's not even mentioning the body-swap thing, which is among the most offensive, disturbing things in the history of the genre.

This would always have been a let-down but considering that it was one of the only big-budget releases to come out in 2020, that makes it that much worse.

Still, it was kind of Warner Bros to go ahead and release the film in 2020 as planned despite the box office situation, so that's one thing that should be remembered even if the final film was disappointing.
