15 Most Exciting Movies Coming In March 2020
14. Bacurau
Billed as a mixture of science fiction, western and traditional adventure tales, Bacurau blends these genres with the sociopolitical concerns of modern day Brazil to deliver an intense and hard-hitting thriller. From Brazilian filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho, and a follow up to his award-winning 2012 film Aquarius, Bacurau premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize.
The story follows a documentary filmmaker as he visits a small village in the interior of Brazil and discovers that the locals seem to be hiding dangerous secrets. Meanwhile, a local woman returns to find her home has disappeared from the map after the town's 94-year-old matriarch dies. And all that's before we get to the twists and turns of this crazy film.
Bacurau should be appearing in cinemas around the world sometime in March, although US distribution is still being negotiated.
