Hua Mulan is a fearless young woman who masquerades as a man in order to join the Imperial Army in place of her ailing father. The daughter of a great warrior, she's fast, spirited, and determined. But when Northern invaders threaten China and the Emperor issues a decree that a man from each family must serve in the army, Mulan takes her father's place and becomes one of China's greatest warriors.
Starring the beautiful Liu Yifei, here wonderfully cast against type, and helmed by the incredible Niki Caro (only the second female to helm a Disney film with a budget over $100 million), the film is far from the usual Disney live action remake. Gorgeous cinematography and stunning costume design promise something very special indeed.
