15 Most Exciting New Movies Announced In 2019 (So Far)
3. Blade
Release: TBC
After years of inactivity, Marvel's Daywalker will return to screens thanks to the announcement at this year's Comic Con that Mahershala Ali has been cast to replace Wesley Snipes.
The revelation came as the biggest surprise of Marvel's Hall H presence in San Diego and went down as one of the most successful announcements of the entire event. Part of that has to go down to Ali's casting, which is excellent (and which he asked for himself, apparently), while it's also proof that the character - and comic book vampires as a whole - remains an enduringly popular one, despite how mediocre Blade: Trinity was.
It has Snipes' blessing, but no release date yet, other than a vague suggestion it's coming in Marvel's Phase 5 - which puts it somewhere between 2022 and 2023.
