2. Ghostbusters 3

Release: Summer 2020

After years of speculation, it looked like Dan Aykroyd had to give up his desire of making a straight sequel to Ghostbusters 2 when Sony decided to make the all-female reboot in 2016. Unfortunately, that film wasn't what a lot of people would have hoped and its financial performance meant plans for sequels ended with it.

And while that's sad, it does mean that we're back on track for a Ghostbusters 3, which was announced early this year with Jason Reitman directing, his father Ivan producing and the original cast returning in their original roles. On top of that is the news that there's a new family at the centre of the story, played - rather brilliantly by Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coons and Mckenna Grace.

It might be another passing of the torch movie, but Reitman's commitment to capturing the spirit and magic of the original is exciting enough, and that's without the hype of having the original cast members back.
