13. Michael Shannon's Doomsday (Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice)

Despite sporting the type of haircut that painfully reminded you of the times in which mum sacrificed your appearance in order to cut costs with a bowl and scissors, Michael Shannon€™s Zod from Man of Steel was an intimidating presence. Under the constant threat of his bug-eyes literally exploding from his skull, Zod€™s genocidal aspirations left a scar on the world. For a while now, there have been rumours floating around, claiming that Zod€™s cadaver was going to be experimented on by Luthor and subsequently turned into the monstrous Doomsday (aka the brutish alien who beat Superman to death). After the second trailer debuted, it appears as if it€™s much more than a rumour. From a story-line perspective, having Zod become Doomsday makes sense. He is already proven threat to Superman, can provide much needed brawn to Luthor€™s brains and is believable adversary for the cumulative might of DC€™s Holy Trinity. I wouldn€™t expect to see him undergo a Shakespearean showing of character development but you cannot deny that Doomsday fighting Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman is going to be awesome. Shannon is truly an actor's actor, respected and admired for his aptitude to either portray a wide range of emotions (Boardwalk Empire) or completely detach himself from them (The Iceman). Here€™s hoping that acting ability actually gets to shine through the influx of CGI.
