12. Jason Mamoa's Aquaman (Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice)
This entry is shrouded in a veil of What if? Namely, what if Khal Drogo grew gills? and what if Aquaman was actually cool?'. Aquaman is constantly ribbed but the character is actually much more than the sum of his parts. Sure, the guy probably has horrible breath and would smell like the dish sponge you should have thrown out ages ago but he has other attributes. Hes the king of a sovereign world that is technically more powerful than ours and is torn between the two. The potential for political pressure with an aquatic twist is there and should be addressed. Casting Momoa was a bit of a no-brainer: as Drogo in Game of Thrones, we have seen that he is more than capable of portraying a ruler with a primal edge who leads an unorthodox group by example. Hes physically intimidating and convincing in a scrap, yet also shows vulnerability. His eyebrows are also absolutely ridiculous and make him appear almost otherworldly. Expecting Aquaman to feature in Dawn of Justice beyond a brief scene is a bit silly but it may be that scene that convinces us that he belongs on the big screen.
