15 Most Hated Comic Book Movie Characters Ever

Her pairing with Spidey in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy might’ve treated the romantic comic book movie enthusiasts among us to one of the most iconic on-screen smooches in recent cinema history – rain-soaked and wrong side up, no less – but the big screen version of Mary Jane Watson (played by Kirsten Dunst) was never a big hit with fans.

Many an MJ naysayer has pointed out that Raimi’s take on the character seems a far more watered down version than the vivacious and free-spirited lass co-created by Stan Lee back in the Swinging Sixties.

They’re not too far from the truth either. Though Raimi’s MJ started out kind of strong in the first Spider-Man movie, by the time the almost universally reviled third instalment rolled around poor old Miss Watson was coming across as whiny, passive-aggressive and the kind of damsel in distress that needed saving too many damn times.
