15 Most Hated Comic Book Movie Characters Ever

Let’s give Ryan Reynolds his due – it’s not like the Hal Jordan incarnation of the Green Lantern was the most beloved of all DC comic characters, so perhaps transporting him to the big screen wasn’t exactly the best idea.

On the other hand, we know that Reynolds is fully capable of carrying off a superhero role as he proved with Deadpool (the second time he played him, that is) and in playing a character without such a cherished comic book legacy as others there was ample opportunity to improve upon Hal Jordan in a movie.

Unfortunately the Hal Jordan/Green Lantern we got was as reviled as his comic book counterpart, sporting a silly CGI suit that looks like it was pasted on in Microsoft Paint and decorated with LED rope lights.

Warner Bros and DC Entertainment will soon have another bash at Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps movie slated for a 2020 release. It’s not yet known who will portray Hal Jordan second time around, but we’re pretty sure Reynolds won’t be touching the role barge pole ever again.
