12. The Hangover Part III
What Everyone Expected: After getting majorly hungover during marital celebrations in the first two movies, it looked like The Wolfpack, Alan (Zack Galifianakis), Doug (Justin Bartha), Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Stu (Ed Helms), were getting ready for one more booze-filled, drug-fueled night out on the town. What Actually Happened: To writer-director Todd Phillips' credit, he didn't take the laziest option available to him, and did try to do something a little different in The Hangover Part III...by giving nobody a hangover this time around (at least not until the mid-credit scene, which not-so-coincidentally happens to be the funniest scene in the movie). Instead, the third Hangover film is pretty much just a comedy caper action film, though sadly it struggles to replicate the success of the original movie, just as the previous film did. What It Should Have Been Called: It was never going to have any name but The Hangover Part III, but why not save most audiences the trouble of trying to figure out if it was going to be any good by calling it The Hangover: Electric Boogaloo. Or slightly more seriously, just call it The Wolfpack.
