9. Hellboy
Probably the most unique movie depiction of a superhero, Ron Perlman brings a sense of glee to his portrayal of Hellboy that make him one of the most memorable onscreen superheroes. The result of Nazi experimentation with The Occult, Hellboy was raised as a human child by professor Trevor Bruttenholm. In both the first and second film, Hellboy deals with various supernatural threats with his partners in the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense. With brilliant directing from Guillermo Del Toro and a great performance from Ron Perlman, the two Hellboy movies are some of the best blockbusters of the last decade and the only reason Hellboy doesn't rank higher is the fact that Del Toro doesn't look likely to return to the series any time soon to complete his character arc.
