14. Dumb & Dumber To (2014)

This one really stings. Though critics never much connected with the Farrelly brothers' iconic 1994 smash-hit comedy Dumb and Dumber, it was a stonking hit with audiences, and is generally accepted to be one of the funniest films of the 90s.

20 years later, after several false starts, the hilariously-titled Dumb and Dumber To finally hit screens...to utter indifference from a woefully underwhelmed fanbase.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were really trying, bless 'em, but the script - which was cobbled together by a committee of six (!) writers - just isn't particularly funny, nor does it cleverly update the original formula for a new generation.

There are a few cutesy callbacks, but from the grossly over-lit sitcom-level cinematography to the depressing absence of memorable one-liners, it feels oddly phoned-in (save for Carrey and Daniels).
