8. The Island
Required Action Movie Line: "I brought you into this world... and I can take you out of it."
Possibly the smartest movie that Michael Bay ever directed, 2005's The Island starts with the idea of a post-apocalyptic, dystopian society where we meet the Earth's survivors. They've been brought to a special facility that keeps them safe from the toxic air, and hope to win the lottery that will let them live out their days on the one safe island left on Earth.
We quickly find out that the Earth is fine and the survivors were actually clones of rich people, used as "insurance policies". After this reveal, its straight into the Michael Bay-ness with car chases, explosions, and mildly inappropriate humor.
