9. Tom's Big Break - Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Everyone loves a set injury story, which is why Johnny Knoxville is still a thing and why there's so much fascination around the latest way Jackie Chan has badly hurt himself during a stunt. It's also why everyone is so delighted and terrified in equal measure by Tom Cruise insisting on doing his own stunts where possible.

That conviction bit him somewhat this year when he was making Mission: Impossible - Fallout alongside Henry Cavill's moustache and biceps and a stunt went so badly that he broke his ankle after landing badly. Luckily, the moment was used in the final movie and you can watch the exact point that his leg snaps because Cruise didn't want to do it again:

"I didn't want to do it again. I knew instantly it was broken and I just run past [the] camera, we got the shot. It's in the movie. That profile shot -- both those shots -- are in the movie."
