5. The Tarantino Shade - Lucky Day

Lucky Day

There's a good chance you didn't see Lucky Day, the crime-soaked action movie directed by Roger Avary that landed in September. It was pretty unremarkable apart from as the most recent work of Avary and Crispin Glover - two men more known for their Hollywood controversies than their actual work.

And that notoriety is something Avary seems to have wanted to channel in his film.

After years of suggestions that Avary was screwed out of proper credits on a number of his friend (and former fellow video store clerk) Quentin Tarantino - including on Pulp Fiction most notably - Avary clearly couldn't resist a shot at his former colleague. He seems to have done so by naming a store in the background of Lucky Day "Quentin's Dupe System," which you can only catch with the sharpest of eyes.
