Yes, there's no denying that the enduring appeal of this 1984 supernatural comedy adventure owes a lot to its insanely catchy theme song from Ray Parker Jr - but then, the song wouldn't remain so popular were it not directly associated with one of the most entertaining movies ever.

Not unlike Back To The Future, Ghostbusters may seem on first glance to be primarily FX-based, but it's the human element that leaves it so close to the heart of generations of viewers.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more endearing core ensemble than Bill Murray's cynical and sarcastic Venkman, Dan Aykroyd's big-hearted Ray, and Harold Ramis' clinical and detached Egon (although there's no denying Ernie Hudson's Winston gets sidelined).
