15 Most Terrifying Movie Aliens Of All Time
9. The Blob
It doesn't matter if you grew up with the original '50s classic or the horrifying '80s remake, because either way, there's a solid chance that you were terrified of the creature (if you can call it that?) known only as The Blob.
Sure, it might look like a giant hunk of rippled jelly to the untrained eye, but be warned, it's a lot more threatening than you'd think. A specimen that crash-landed from outer space in a blistering hot meteor, it's perfectly happy to latch itself onto the first living host it can find, gently absorbing that person whole (and, in the '88 remake, chemically burning that person to death) before moving onto the next. And with each victim that it claims, it grows bigger and bigger in a bid to quench an appetite that can never be fully be satiated.
Its a silent killer and the bigger it grows the more terrifying it becomes. Throw in the fact that doors, windows and even sinks can't keep it out (because it can slide itself underneath, above or around them) and this hunk of jelly doesn't seem so harmless anymore.
