But no movie this year has left audiences more puzzled, revolted and angry than Lars von Trier's controversial new psychological horror film.

Matt Dillon gives one of his best-ever performances as deranged serial killer Jack, in a film that sees Trier riffing on the nature of art in-between depicting five of Jack's violent "incidents."

This is a film where a certain name actress has her face caved in with a car jack in the opening 10 minutes, and from there children are shot dead, several women have their bodies mutilated in grisly detail, and there's a sharp left-turn in the third act that just can't be spoiled.

It is obviously not a film for the queasy of stomach or faint of heart, but if you can get on von Trier's wavelength or have appreciated his prior works, this just might land on the right side of WTF for you.
