15 Movie Sequels That Better Happen In 2016

1. Blade Runner 2

The Original: The legacy of Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic speaks for itself, its fanfare only growing with the release of vastly superior special editions and the more recent definitive Final Cut. With terrific performances, incredible visuals and a thought-provoking narrative, it truly is one of the best sci-fi films ever made, even if it suffered through mixed reviews and a paltry box office upon release. The Sequel: Scott has been meditating on a sequel for years, and last year it was revealed that Scott will only be a producer, while Harrison Ford will make a small appearance in the movie's final third. Prisoners and Sicario filmmaker Denis Villeneuve will take over directing duties, while original writer Hampton Francher will pen it, legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins will lens it, and Ryan Gosling will reportedly take the lead role. In short: be very, very excited. How Likely Is It?: Filming is apparently set for a mid-2016 start, but it's one of those productions we'll only believe is really happening when it's actually shooting. It'd be easy for someone to drop out and derail the whole schedule, so don't be shocked if it slips to 2017 or beyond. That said, with so many talented people committed, it seems like they're pretty serious about it. 6/10 Which movies are you desperate to see actually get made in 2016? Shout them out in the comments!
