Suicide Squad may have been savaged by critics and fans alike, but money talks, and a $745.6 million worldwide gross is no joke.
Warner Bros. were talking up the idea of a sequel before the first film even released, but have since seemed to place priority on the Harley Quinn-led Gotham City Sirens, as she was inarguably Suicide Squad's most successful element.
Expect Warner to give fans a little breathing room and wait until at least Wonder Woman has come and gone this summer (if not Justice League as well) before confirming a Suicide Squad 2 release date.
It'll probably be a few years off if Gotham City Sirens is coming first, but why not stake out box office territory as soon as possible? Either way, the film's definitely happening sooner rather than later.
